Program Endowments

These giving opportunities will help to endow the support services needed for each program serving the women, youth and children we shelter.  By way of example, supportive services include ongoing basic necessities such as linens, supplies, meals, clothing and shoes, medications, school activities, special needs and key support staff dedicated to the program. The youth program has specialized youth counselors, resource coordinators, and operations managers, all of whom serve as “house mothers” for our youth providing them with the stability and guidance needed to thrive and build the foundation for successful futures. Lotus House is always applying for available government and grant funding, but many times this funding must be matched or runs in cycles making it difficult to provide the financial stability desperately needed for our programs.  Your help can provide crucial funding matches and long term stability for these life changing programs.

To fully endow one of the residential programs, a gift of $5 to $10 Million is needed, depending on the program. Endowments of $1 Million or more can be designated to support specific components of a program and aggregated together to better assure the financial stability of Lotus House and enriched programming for generations to come.

The name of each program will include the individual or family donors making supportive services possible.  By way of example, “[Donor’s Name] Youth/Rising Star Program.” A plaque will be installed in a prominent location for each program, both on the floor of the actual program and our main donor recognition wall at the entrance to the facilities.

With your help, we can provide additional shelter desperately needed by women, youth and children experiencing homelessness in our community and build in Lotus Village facilities that will empower and enrich those in need in our community, now and for generations to come. Your help in providing assistance for this important new project is essential, life changing, life saving, and laying the foundation for our collective future – our children, because we are all one, one village, one family.

On behalf of Lotus Endowment Fund, thank you for caring, thank you for making a difference!

Here are Some Creative Ways to Raise Funds for your Campaign:

  • Invite your family and friends to make a commitment with you to become a Founder with you and sponsor a room together. As an example, if each of 50 friends donate $20 per month for ten months you will have raised $10,000, over five years, $50,000.
  • Host events! Some fun examples: monthly dinners, parties, special occasions and celebrations of any kind (e.g., weddings, birthdays, bat/bar mitzvahs, anniversaries, holidays), flash mob, Pink Party, movie nights, book clubs and other gatherings, donations in lieu of gifts.
  • Become a corporate sponsor or Invite your co-workers to join you as a Founder to sponsor a room.
  • Encourage your place of worship, school, club, sorority/fraternity, or other organization in which you are involved or a member to become a Founder.
  • Ride a bike, dance, swim, run!
